Why hardwired beats wireless every time

Wireless cameras are easy to sell and unreliable when it matters. We hardwire every install with Cat6 over PoE — single cable carries power and video, no batteries to charge, no Wi-Fi blackspots, no camera dropping offline at 3am when you need it. The NVR recorder lives inside the house, encrypted, with backup to local storage.

What a typical Surrey CCTV install includes

Every job is surveyed before quoted — but a standard 4-camera home install covers the driveway, front door, rear garden and side access:

  • 4× 4K IP cameras with motion detection & smart alerts
  • Hardwired Cat6 PoE back to a hidden NVR
  • 4TB NVR storage (~30 days continuous recording)
  • Mobile app — live & playback from anywhere
  • Floodlight integration on motion-detect zones
  • Cabling concealed in cavity or trunked to match brickwork

Common questions

CCTV Installation Surrey — the questions we get asked.

How much does CCTV installation cost in Surrey?

A standard 4-camera 4K hardwired home system with NVR, app access and tidy cabling typically lands between £950 and £1,650 fully installed. We survey free and quote fixed — no hidden extras.

Do you do wireless CCTV?

Only where hardwiring genuinely isn't possible. Wireless cameras drop out, miss events and need charging. For anything you actually rely on, hardwired is the right answer.

Can I view CCTV on my phone?

Yes — every install includes a phone app for live view, playback, motion alerts and remote arming. Works from anywhere with an internet connection.

Is there a monthly subscription?

No. Footage records to the on-site NVR you own. There's no cloud subscription, no per-camera fee, no monthly bill.

Do I need permission for CCTV at my Surrey property?

For a private home pointing at your own property, no. If cameras capture neighbouring property or public footpath, you must register with the ICO (£40) and put up signage. We talk through the rules during the survey.
